From our pastor . . . Pastor Jan Kaatz and Ellen

We share many beliefs in common with other Christians, however we view ourselves as having a unique place in the greater body of Christ and in church history (see the comprehensive list of all our beliefs). The name “Seventh-day Adventist” encapsulates two of our twenty-seven beliefs.  The “Seventh-day” part of our name refers to the keeping of the seventh day (Saturday) as the day of worship commanded in the fourth commandment and the “Adventist” part of our name speaks about our belief that Jesus Christ is soon to return and that His coming (the Advent) will mark the end of human history as we know it.  The coming of Jesus with his angels will be a universal, visual and audible event and will be glorious!  The Sabbath of the Lord our God, is a great blessing for all humanity and is a memorial of God’s creation and his re-creative work of salvation in our lives.  Adventist Christians seek to emulate the beliefs and practices of the early Christian Church as it was under the leadership of Jesus Christ and the twelve apostles.
